Privacy policy

What we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to reach us about any of it.

Last updated: May 2026

Westerholm Koehler Insurance Agency (“WKI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through wkitexas.com and our other online channels, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors, customers, prospective customers, and anyone who contacts us through the site.

1. Who we are

Westerholm Koehler Insurance Agency is a Texas-licensed independent insurance agency located at 533 E. Court Street, Seguin, TX 78155. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this site.

2. Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to provide, plus a small amount of technical information your browser sends automatically. Specifically:

2a. Information you give us

  • Contact form submissions. Name, email, phone, coverage topic, and the contents of your message when you fill out the form on our Contact page.
  • Quote requests. If you use the quote workflow on our Request a Quotepage, you may provide personal, vehicle, property, business, or health information needed to produce an insurance quote. That workflow is provided by Saltinsure (see “Third-party services” below).
  • Direct contact. Information you share when you email us at sales@wkitexas.com, call us at (830) 379-7352, or visit our office.

2b. Information collected automatically

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request metadata — IP address, user agent, page requested, timestamp — for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.
  • Analytics & cookies. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, navigation paths, device categories). Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser; we do not use those cookies for advertising or to identify individual visitors. The Saltinsure quote form and the Google Maps embed on our Contact page may also set cookies to function correctly. See section 5 below.

3. How we use your information

We use information you provide to:

  • Prepare and deliver insurance quotes you request
  • Respond to questions, service your existing policies, and follow up on your inquiry
  • Share your quote information with the relevant insurance carrier(s) on our panel so they can underwrite and price the coverage
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations that apply to a Texas-licensed insurance agency
  • Protect the security of our site and prevent fraud or abuse

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for their own marketing.

4. Who we share information with

We share information only with the parties needed to deliver what you asked for or to run the agency:

  • Insurance carriers. When you request a quote, we share the information needed to price your policy with the carriers we represent — for example Travelers, Progressive, Allstate, Liberty Mutual, Germania, Hochheim Prairie, Mutual of Omaha, and others. The carriers' own privacy practices govern their use of that information.
  • Service providers. We use a small number of third-party tools to operate the site (listed in section 5). Those providers process information on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal and regulatory. We may share information when required by law, court order, or a legitimate request from the Texas Department of Insurance or other regulatory authority.

5. Third-party services we use

The site uses the following services. Each has its own privacy policy that you should review:

  • Saltinsure — the quote-workflow form embedded on the Request a Quote page. Saltinsure processes the personal information you submit through that form on behalf of WKI and the carriers we route quotes to.
  • Web3Forms — the service that processes submissions from our Contact form and routes them to our team inboxes.
  • Google Analytics 4 — measures aggregate usage of the site (pages viewed, traffic sources, device categories) so we can improve it. We have not enabled Google Signals, ad-personalization features, or cross-site tracking. IP addresses are processed by Google to derive approximate location but are not stored by us.
  • Google Maps — embedded map on our Contact page. Google may set cookies and process limited information about your interaction with the map.
  • Vercel — our hosting provider. Vercel processes server requests and may log standard request metadata for security and operational purposes.

6. Cookies

We use cookies for two purposes:

  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to measure aggregate site usage. These cookies typically expire within two years and do not identify you personally to us. We do not use these cookies for advertising or to build a marketing profile about you.
  • Functional cookies set by embedded features — the Saltinsure quote form and Google Maps embed may set cookies in your browser that are necessary for those features to function.

We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking. You can block third-party cookies in your browser settings; blocking them may prevent the quote form or map embed from working, and may opt you out of our analytics measurement (which is fine — we'll just have slightly less data about how the site is used).

7. How long we keep information

We keep contact form submissions and quote requests for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, service any resulting policy, and meet our regulatory recordkeeping obligations (typically several years for insurance records). Server logs are retained for a shorter operational window by our hosting provider.

8. How we protect information

The site is served over HTTPS. Information you submit through the contact form or quote form is transmitted over encrypted connections. Our internal handling of customer information follows the safeguards expected of a Texas-licensed insurance agency. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we make reasonable efforts to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights about your personal information — including the right to access, correct, or delete it, and the right to opt out of certain kinds of processing.

Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), including the right to know what personal data we process, the right to correct or delete it (subject to insurance recordkeeping requirements), and the right to opt out of sale or targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the addresses in section 12. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can and within any timeframes required by law.

10. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through the site, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, when we add or remove a third-party service, change how we handle data, or in response to new legal requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
