Two Steps, One Sticker

Texas is moving to a new system of registration and inspection by requiring a single sticker for vehicles as of March 1st, 2015. Registration will now serve as proof of both registration and inspection.

How does it work?

From March 1st, 2015 to February 29th, 2016 you may renew your registration if your vehicle has a current inspection. However if they expire in the same month you will need to pass inspection for registration renewal. When you renew your registration your inspection status will be verified electronically.

How much will it cost?

The new system takes less room from your windshield and the same fee as before. With no price increase and an ease of use this new system proves to help the state and its drivers.
